We hope all is well!

Thank you so much to the 86% of you who have filled out your address surveys and paid for shipping. We had some trouble with a few of your fulfillment emails not going out, and we are actively trying to track down and help everyone who didn’t receive one. If that is still you, please respond to this email with your preferred email address in writing.

Regarding your Air Docks, almost everything we need to begin packing orders has arrived from our production partners, and the parts look amazing! The only thing we are waiting on is the drywall anchors, which are currently being held for inspection by Canadian border security. We are trying to contact everyone we can to speed up this process, but it seems they don’t understand that we have 2,100 pairs of skis to display ASAP!

In the meantime, we designed a bunch of Après Equipment stickers! And we’ll be throwing a handful in each order as an extra thank-you for your understanding. 

We’ve also improved the installation template included in each box, so getting set up should be a breeze.

As the final steps come together, we are so excited to get these out to you guys, and we’ll keep you updated regularly with what’s going on over here!

Shipping & Materials Arriving! - Two Week Update

Hey, Après Family!

We hope all you lovely people are having an amazing April. Just a quick update from our end:

Batches of materials are slowly starting to arrive from our various production partners. The garage is starting to look like a game of Tetris with all these boxes! Hopefully, in a couple of weeks, we will have all the pieces of the puzzle to start fulfilling those initial pre-orders.

Shipping-wise, we will send you an email in the next few days from a platform called BackerKit to collect shipping fees and addresses, so please look out for this.

With everything going on in the world right now, plus many of you being based overseas, shipping from Canada can get expensive. We have spent the last five days comparing thousands of quotes from a bunch of companies to ensure that we offer your individual pre-order the absolute best rate available. Shipping options will either be cheaper surface shipping or faster air shipping.

We appreciate your patience. We plan to keep you regularly updated as we move forward with fulfillment. You are a part of this journey as much as we are!

All Done! What's Next?

Our campaign is done! Thank you all so much!

As we move forward, building Après Equipment as a brand that embodies the aesthetic of ski culture, we’ll always remember that our Kickstarter backers were there at the very start. This could not have happened without you, and that’s something truly special.

We are so excited to focus all our efforts on getting your ski mounts to you.

You guys pre-ordered almost five times more than we expected! 1,686 of them to be exact! Therefore, actually finishing production of all the mounts will take a few weeks. 

How Kickstarter campaigns typically work is that a company will take the money raised after their campaign and then use it to turn their prototype into a finished product, set up manufacturing, produce everything, and finally ship the product out. This can take months or even a year. Because we already had a finished product with manufacturing basically ready to go, we can do this much quicker.

As soon as we saw interest on day one, we immediately began production and doubled the amount we were planning on making. This past week, I then had to double that again!

We had a small issue with one of the parts being about 1 mm off, but thankfully, we caught this very early and got it fixed. It is far more important that we get you the perfect product in a timely manner, instead of rushing everything and underdelivering.

Your Air Docks are being made as you read this. We have arranged with our production partner to send us batches of inventory as they are finished to speed things up as much as possible, and we will fulfill pre-orders in the order in which they were placed. We hope to have everything out by the end of May, with those first orders most likely being fulfilled just after April.

Regarding shipping, we are working with a well-known platform that takes your individual order, collects quotes from multiple couriers, and finds the most affordable and efficient way for you to get your ski mounts.

We'll contact you soon about shipping and collecting addresses.

The campaign went fantastically. Now, it is our utmost priority to deliver the best customer experience possible, and we are working hard to ensure this wherever we can.
